On August 9, Brit tweeted a photo of her on the set of her debut music video with director Nigel Dick, along with a nostalgic note.

“Nigel Dick, director of Baby One More Time. First ever music video… 18 years ago. Most precious day of my life!!!!” she wrote.

Dick, who also filmed Britney’s pop culture-defining clips for “Sometimes,” “(You Drive Me) Crazy” and “Oops!…I Did It Again” and worked with the likes of everyone from Celine Dion to Backstreet Boys (and more recently shot Fifth Harmony‘s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” cover) saw Brit’s shout-out and replied.

“Thanks for the shout-out Britney. It was a fun three days. At the time there were people who questioned why I would think of making this video for an unknown 16-year-old. I told them the song was going to be massive and that you had something special. So glad you showed ’em I was right!” he wrote on her Facebook.

Conveniently, just one day before Britney’s shout-out, an eager member of the Britney Army was already thinkin’ about a reunion: “@nigeldick can you please go and direct a new #BritneySpears video.shes. she needs a new iconic video #makeme” one fan asked the director yesterday.

“Thank-you for asking. I think Britney’s people know where to find me if they feel the need to go down that road,” he replied. The idea seems like a major stretch, but hey, never say never...

Back in February, Dick spoke about working with Britney and got quite emotional.

He also spoke briefly about Britney in his interview with Sweetwater. You can hear his comments starting at 6:21.
